Water jet sand, also known as water jet cutting abrasive, is mixed into the water jet to form an abrasive jet for cutting metals or other materials, with a cutting thickness sometimes exceeding 150mm. Usually, silica, alumina, or garnet with a particle size of 30-150 mesh are used as abrasives, with garnet with a particle size of 80-100 mesh being the most commonly used.
Garnet, chemical name aluminum (calcium) silicate, is a brownish red sandy uniform small particle with slight black impurities and a small amount of floating dust.

Commonly used for waterjet cutting, surface sandblasting treatment of various metals, plastics, wood, etc., fine grinding in the mechanical industry, hardening of drinking water or wastewater, and also as functional fillers in the construction industry.
