Application fields of Green silicon carbide

Silicon carbide is used for the lining of large blast furnaces to increase its service life by taking advantage of its corrosion resistance, thermal shock resistance, wear resistance and good thermal conductivity.

 

(4) Application in the metallurgical mineral processing industry

Silicon carbide has a hardness second only to diamond and has strong wear resistance. It is an ideal material for wear-resistant pipes, impellers, pump chambers, cyclones and hopper linings. Its wear resistance is 5-20 times that of cast iron and rubber.

 

(5) Energy-saving materials

Silicon carbide is used in the manufacture of heat exchangers by taking advantage of its good thermal conductivity and thermal stability, which can reduce fuel consumption by 20% and save fuel by 35%. Silicon carbide new materials are also widely used in aerospace. my country's first Mars rover may be made of aluminum-based silicon carbide and other materials.

Since silicon carbide has unique and excellent physical and electronic properties such as wide energy levels, high breakdown electric field, high thermal conductivity and high saturation electron migration speed, it has become the best material in the semiconductor field. For example: blue light-emitting diodes, ultraviolet detectors, high-voltage diodes, high-power microwaves, and various high-frequency devices that are resistant to high temperatures.
